Hello Network Canvas Community and Developers!
Thank you so much for developing the lovely Network Canvas software. Our team runs the Interviewer app on Apple devices and we recently updated one of our devices to a more recent OS version. We noticed that the current Network canvas version we have on our files (v 6.5.3) is intel based and received a notification that says:
”Support Ending for Inter-based Apps This version of “Network Canvas Interviewer” will not open in a future release of macOS. Learn how to update to an Apple silicon version”
Our team is curious in knowing if either architect or interviewer will have native Apple Silicon or “Universal” support for more recent OS versions?
we want to get ahead of this so our network canvas protocols are not disrupted by any OS bump.

Nice to hear from you again. Thank you for bringing this up!
As you know, the funding for the original Network Canvas grant ended a few years ago, and so we have mostly been working on porting our software to the web so that it will always be compatible with whatever browser or operating system you have access to. For example, Fresco is fully compatible with all interview protocols, and can be used in exactly the same way as Interviewer in a co-production environment.
With that said, we know that Fresco isn’t right for all scenarios, and that Interviewer needs to be updated. We submitted a grant proposal to get funding to update Interviewer and Architect last year, and although I can’t share any specifics right now, the signs are very promising!
Support for the current version of Interviewer (and Architect) on macOS will end with macOS 27, which is due to be released in 2027. I am very confident that we will have new versions available a long time before this happens (perhaps even as soon as Sunbelt/EUSN
