I am working on Network Canvas to investigate how networks help support employment and job opportunities but I am running into a problem where respondents do not categorise how they know people in the network when using the interactive interface since they can just skip through the question and it is not required for them to answer. Is there anyway to add an input control to the categorical bin format to make it a required field so that respondents MUST select a bin for each person?
Unfortunately there is no “stage level validation” feature that would force a task to be completed, except on the name generator interface. The intent is for an interviewer to be present to guide the interview and ensure that tasks are completed.
We know that there is demand for this feature and that it is important in self-administered settings. We hope to be able to implement it soon! If you want to get a head start, you are welcome to either develop the feature yourself, or to contract the development of it out.
