Network Canvas Protocol Gallery

Introducing the Network Canvas Protocol Gallery
We’re excited to announce the launch of a Protocol Gallery — a publicly available, curated repository of high-quality Network Canvas protocols that showcase both the flexibility in survey design and best practices in implementation.

Over the years, Network Canvas has been used across a wide range of disciplines and study designs, resulting in a growing ecosystem of network data collection instruments. While this diversity is a strength, it can also make it difficult for researchers to discover, evaluate, and reuse existing protocols. The Protocol Gallery is designed to address that challenge.

What is the Protocol Gallery?
The Protocol Gallery is a centralized, publicly accessible collection of Network Canvas protocols that have been reviewed and endorsed by the Network Canvas team. Each protocol is intended to serve as a high-quality example of how Network Canvas can be used to capture network data for specific research purposes.

Rather than starting from scratch, researchers can browse the gallery to find protocols of interest, explore them within our Fresco sandbox, and, if desired, download and adapt them within Network Canvas Architect to the needs of their specific study.

Our hope is that the Protocol Gallery will help the network research community more easily find and re-use existing network data capture instruments, thereby reducing the time researchers spend developing new measures, as well as promoting the standardization of measures and increasing the potential for the validation of existing measures.

A call for community contributions and feedback
The Protocol Gallery is intended to be a living resource shaped by the network research community. We enthusiastically invite researchers who have developed Network Canvas protocols to share their work for possible inclusion in the gallery. If you would like your instrument included, please send us an email at [email protected].

As with any new feature of our work, we’re keen to hear from you! Your questions and insights are welcome – whether to our team directly via email or on our user community site.

Thank You
We extend our sincere gratitude to the research teams who contributed their instruments to this inaugural effort. Seeing the important and diverse research conducted with these tools continues to inspire our work. And finally, a huge thanks to @lporras who did all the heavy lifting in bringing this site to life!
