Inquiry Regarding Username Change for Fresco

Dear support team,

I am writing to inquire about the possibility of modifying the username associated with a Fresco account.

While registering an account, I inadvertently included some credentials in the username field. To prevent any potential security risks, I would like to know if it’s possible to change the username. Alternatively, would it be possible to delete the current account and create a new one under the email?

I would greatly appreciate your advice on the best course of action and any guidance you can provide on how to proceed.

Thanks for reaching out! It’s currently not possible to change your username in Fresco. I would recommend resetting your database and following the setup steps to create a new account. Please note that this will delete any protocol, participant, and interview data as well so be sure to export any existing interviews first.

We have a guide with more detailed instructions on how to reset your database on our troubleshooting page. While this was written specifically for cases where the instance expired, the steps will be the same.

Thank you so much for your help but I think the process may be a bit different because I can’t find most of the files suggested on the troubleshooting page

The database name in the troubleshooting is just meant to serve as an example. In your case, you will select my-fresco-database.

Additionally, it appears that your database was not connected. In this case, you will skip steps 2 and 3 to remove the connection and simply proceed with steps 4 and 5 to delete the database and follow the steps to create a new database.

So the steps for your case specifically will be:

  1. Select my-fresco-database from the storage dashboard page that you screenshotted above
  2. Select the Settings tab and select Delete Database from the Delete Store section.
  3. After confirming, you can follow the instructions again to Create a Database
