Hi there! Feature request – it would be nice at some point to be able to modify the size of the font used for the response option labels in categorical and ordinal bin variables. We’ve had to truncate some of our labels pretty substantially to make them fit (I know for categorical vars, interviewers can click on the bin to enlarge it and see the full label, but we’d love for them to be able to see it at a glance). Just a suggestion for a future update if possible!
Thanks for the feedback! I should be able to make this change very quickly.
I’m assuming you are referring to the categorical bin and ordinal bin interfaces, and how they render the option labels (as opposed to using these variables in a form with the toggle button component or the checkbox/radio button components).
Could you give some examples of labels that you would like to be able to use without truncation?
Fantastic! And yes, that’s correct, re: the option labels in the bin interfaces. Here’s a few examples from our instrument where the longer-worded response options are being cut off:
5 What best describes each person’s history of involvement with the criminal legal system? By “involvement,” I mean if they’ve been arrested, on probation/parole, in drug court, or in jail/prison.
0=Never been involved in the criminal legal system
1=Previously involved in the criminal legal system, but not currently
2=Currently incarcerated or on community supervision
97=Don’t Know
98=Refuse to Answer
19. Other than marijuana, has this person ever used illicit drugs? (For example, stimulants like cocaine or meth, opioids like heroin, or prescription drugs (not prescribed or excess use)?
0=no, has not ever used drugs
1=yes, but not within 90 days before my incarceration
2=yes, within 90 days before my incarceration
97=Don’t Know
98=Refuse to Answer
Yes, that looks perfect!! Thank you so much for your work on this!
